Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Services
Raising a child who is struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or academically can feel overwhelming. At NeuroPsychiatry Center, our child and adolescent psychiatry services are designed to support both the child and the family, with thorough evaluations, clear diagnoses, and treatment plans built around your child’s specific needs.
We see patients starting at age 5, through adolescence and into adulthood, providing continuity of care during some of life’s most important developmental transitions.

Our Approach to Pediatric Psychiatric Care
Family-Centered Evaluation
When evaluating a child or adolescent, we gather information from multiple sources, the patient, parents, teachers, and prior evaluations. Understanding the full picture is essential to making the right diagnosis and the right treatment plan. It is a dynamic process.
Age-Appropriate Communication
Our providers are skilled at connecting with young patients at their developmental level. We work hard to make children feel safe and heard during appointments, and we take time to explain things to parents in plain language.
Coordination With Schools & Providers
We frequently collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, pediatricians, and therapists. With parental consent, we can provide schools with documentation to support IEPs, 504 plans, and other accommodations.
Medication Management With Developmental Sensitivity
When medication is recommended, we approach it carefully, using the lowest effective doses, monitoring closely for side effects, and reassessing regularly as your child grows and develops.
What to Expect at Your Child’s First Appointment
The initial evaluation for a child or adolescent typically lasts 60-90 minutes. A parent or guardian must be present for all appointments involving minors. For older adolescents, the provider may spend some time alone with the patient to encourage honest communication.
After the evaluation, your provider will share their clinical impressions, diagnoses, and recommended next steps. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the treatment plan.
